Notes

Description
In the Ural mountains of the Soviet Union in January of 1959 nine hikers set out on a winter excursion. In February a search party finds their bodies: some are burned; some have crushed ribs; some are missing their eyes and one is missing her tongue. This book explores the question of what happened to these experienced hikers and why they left their warm shelter to venture half-clothed into the freezing Siberian winter.
